School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP
School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:
We spent two SCC meetings reviewing data for ELA, Math and School Climate and planning proposed goals. We went through the CSIP and LandTrust Plans and made edits during a third meeting on March 14, 2019.

Academic Goals
Students in all grades continue to show growth in ELA, however the percentage of students who are proficient or advanced needs to improve.
According to our winter 18-19 Acadience reading benchmark data, 76.3% of our students are proficient on the Acadience reading composite. 59.9% of 3rd -5th grade students are proficient on the SRI assessment.
We believe there is additional room for growth on Acadience reading composite and RI as students are not at 100% proficiency. Strategies for improvement include: 1. Phonemic awareness training in grades 2-4, resource, and new teachers in kindergarten and 1st 2. PD on foundational skills 3. Multiple PDs on academic conversations 4. PD on SBI 5. increase progress monitoring and reflection
By May 2020, Oakdale students will demonstrate proficiency of the ELA core standards, in reading fluency and comprehension based on the following criteria: - 70% of Kindergarten students will be proficient on First Sound Fluency and Phoneme Segmentation Fluency by Spring 2020. - 65% of 1st-3rd grade students will make typical or above typical growth based on Pathways of Progress Acadience composite measures. - 70% of 3rd-5th grade students will make a 100 Lexile point gain, or enough growth to remain on benchmark, on the Reading Inventory.

Teachers will receive ongoing professional development on phonemic awareness in K-3, multisyllabic routine in 3-5, literacy skills (academic conversations, retell, and close reading), skill based instruction and review of opportunities to respond and teacher clarity. Additionally, teachers will receive ongoing PD on progress monitoring that will be reviewed once per month in iPLCs. Resource will be involved in all of this training as well.
Progress will be measured towards this goal through the following: Walkthroughs IPOPs CBM (Acadience and RI) Data Progress Monitoring
Teachers will receive additional training on how to scaffold instruction and encourage academic conversation for students with disabilities. Resource teacher will also receive training on phonemic awareness training. We will monitor progress with progress monitoring data and academic conversation implementation checklist.
We will practice academic conversations in all classes. We will monitor progress with progress monitoring data.
Progress will be communicated to stakeholders through BLT and SCC meetings, as well as parent newsletters and regular staff meetings.

Academic Goals
According to our 2018-2019 Winter CBM benchmark, Oakdale demonstrated the following proficiency: Kindergarten (Acadience Beginning Quantity Discrimination)- 76.1% 1st Grade (Acadience Composite)-68.8% 2nd Grade (Acadience Composite)-65.5% 3rd Grade (Acadience Composite)-64.7% 4th Grade (Acadience Composite)-48.6% 5th Grade (Acadience Composite)-80.5%
We believe this problem is a result of a need to increase our instructional intensity in math computation with a target emphasis on whole group instruction. 1. Providing professional development and dedicated planning time in math instruction, 2. Dedicated IPLC time for unpacking the math standards, building assessments, and using data to plan core instruction and scaffolds; 3. Increase intensity of core instruction through the use of planned instructional priorities, specifically teacher clarity and academic conversations
By May 2020, Oakdale students will demonstrate proficiency of the Math core standards in math computation based on the following criteria: -70% of Kindergarten students will be proficient on the Acadience Math BQD and NNF. -75% of 1st-5th grade students will be proficient on the Acadience computation measure.

School Climate Goals
During the 2018-2019 school year, we implemented giving positive referrals and Kind tickets This has had a positive effect on school climate and we have maintained lower office discipline referrals- 14 majors and 34 minors.
By Spring of 2020, each teacher will increase their use of Kind tickets by giving out at 5 tickets per month and will turn in at least one or more positive office referrals per month. Additionally, 90% of teachers will continue to give 3 or more positives for every corrective. By Spring of 2020, each class in the school will have had at least 8 social skill instruction meetings through morning meetings or classroom lessons that will focus on our character traits for the year and overall theme of "Finding Kind". A survey will be given at the beginning and end of the year to identify if students understand the social skills that are be focused on and how to implement appropriate behaviors.

1. Each grade level will give out specific colors of Kind tickets. Tickets will be drawn each month for prizes and a small incentive may be paired with the ticket. 2. Each teacher will turn in one positive office referral or more. Students will receive a postcard or phone call home. 3. We will implement one professional development on positive school climate 4. Explicitly teach school rules at least twice per year. 5. Morning meetings to focus on the targeted social skill of the month. Social Skills to be covered are: September - Kind October- Manners November- Gratitude December Service January- Grit February- Honesty March- Growth Mindset April- Courage May- Success
6. Walk-throughs and Ipops for positives to correctives
Progress will be measured through: Walkthroughs Formal/Informal IPOPs Positive Referral Counts Kind Ticket Counts
Progress will be communicated to stakeholders through monthly BLT and SCC meetings, as well as yearly in a parent newsletter and regular staff meetings.
