Teacher and Student Success Plan
2019 - 2020

Overarching Goal

According to Acadience assessment, 78% of students are reaching benchmark in reading and 83% of students are reaching benchmark in math. We believe this success is a result of robust core instruction, explicit instruction, small group instruction, supplemental/Tier II instruction and resources. We will continue implementing best practices and provide professional development to maintain success.  Our goal is to reach 82% proficiency in reading composite score and increase the rate of improvement (ROI) 1-2 words per week for students not yet reaching benchmark according to Acadience. 83% of students are reaching benchmark according to Acadience math assessment. Our goal is to maintain and/or increase the 83% proficiency.

School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP
School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:

Granite's SCC meets monthly to review pertinent data, discuss the family night activities, review CSIP and Landtrust goals, and any concerns that are being talked about in the community.  With the voice and support of the SCC, we have been able to focus on resilience and GRIT for our students. We will include discussion about boundaries, restorative justice, and appropriate use of technology.  Our goal is to make sure to support our students not reaching benchmark and provide enrichment opportunities for those students exceeding benchmark standards.  We keep monthly minutes and often assign action steps for the upcoming month.

School Climate Goals

We often see students engaging in negative, inappropriate behaviors such as using hurtful words and teasing one another. The phrase "just kidding" will often lead to conflict and negative interaction. According to feedback and observations from adults and students, there is a need for students to internalize positive behavior traits, support the school wide belief that We All Have Value and make positive contributions to our community.

Students are unsure of how to persevere through difficult tasks, both academically and socially, leading to negative feelings toward school, and minimal work ethics. We desire that students begin to understand and develop perseverance and GRIT. This includes having tools to communicate and ask for help when having difficulties both academically and socially. Students will learn the concept of restorative justice, along with setting and enforcing healthy boundaries through appropriate communication.

Students will identify the qualities needed to have positive social interactions with peers and perseverance through difficult tasks. Students will be given a year end survey to determine their level of understanding and implementation.
