Teacher and Student Success Plan
2020 - 2021

Overarching Goal

Graduation rate of 70% or higher.

School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP
School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:

The SCC has been actively supporting Diamond Ridge in its school improvement efforts, especially with implementing our USBE and CSD Board-approved Comprehensive School Improvement (CSI) plan.

Academic Goals

In the first quarter, 50% of students were on track for GPA and 37% were on track for attendance. This pattern is most common in 11th and 12th grade. Last spring's Root Cause Analysis, completed as part of the DRHS Comprehensive School Improvement plan, revealed that our graduation rate averages below the national ESSA requirement of 67%. Among other factors, nearly all students enter DRHS significantly credit deficient.

The Diamond Ridge senior class will attain a graduation rate of 70% or better before the end of the graduation reporting period on or before October 1, 2021

Diamond Ridge was placed on School Improvement status based on a three year average graduation rate of below 67%.
Nearly all students who enroll at Diamond Ridge enter signifcantly credit deficient. The most effcacious way to help these students graduate is to provide additional supports so that students can earn credit for previously failed courses.
We plan to use these funds to continue to pay an assistant in the credit recovery lab who will work with individual students, providing tutoring and academic support so students pass credit recovery courses and graduate from high school with their senior cohort.

We will use the official USBE high school graduation rate annual reporting.

Excellent evidence-based instructional strategies work for all students.
Structured Classroom Discussions - teachers will be trained and start implementing SCD with full implementation by 2022.
Implementation progress will be monitored through classroom walkthroughs.

School Climate Goals

From the CSI Root Cause Report, Priority #4: Individual and school wide protocols and structures have not been entirely successful in promoting consistent application of expectations while maintaining the flexibility necessary to address student needs.

DRHS will use data to support the improved functioning of faculty and staff to have consistent expectations in professional learning, differentiated instruction and parent engagement so that our students enjoy, are purposefully engaged in and graduate from school.
