Teacher and Student Success Plan
2021 - 2022

Overarching Goal

School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP
School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:

School Community Council helped create the goals for Land Trust and TSSP over the course of two meetings (February and March).  They gave input on the goals and helped to set priorities for expenditures.

Academic Goals

77% of students at Lone Peak Elementary School made typical or better progress on Acadience Reading Measures according to Winter 2021 data. Our school goal is for 80% of students to make typical or better progress. Progress has been made on our goal of 80% or more, but not yet reached. This is due to the need for more professional development and planning for small group instruction in reading as well as a need for more time spent reading for a purpose. Less than 80% of student on RI are advancing from Basic to Proficient or from Below Basic to Basic, Proficient or Advanced on RI in grades 4 and 5. We believe this is due to the amount of students who are not advancing to multisyllabic skill practice in the 95% Group intervention as well as a lack of time spent reading.

By the end of the 2021-2022 school year, 80% or more of Lone Peak Students in grades K-3 will make typical or better progress as measured by Acadience Pathways to Progress. In addition 80% of grade 4-5 students who score Basic or Below Basic will advance at least one level on the Reading Inventory by the end of the 2021-2022 School year.

Academic Goals

18 % of students in 2nd through 5th grade are not proficient in Concepts and Applications as measured by Acadience testing. This is most impactful in our multilingual students and low income populations. We believe the challenge can be resolved by using number talks to develop conceptual understandings, robust vocabulary routines, and further implementation of the C-R-A model and structured classroom discussions.

By the end of the 2021-2022 school year, students in grades 2-5 at Lone Peak Elementary will grow 3% in proficiency to achieve 85% proficient as measured by Acadience Benchmark data.

Summary of Expenditures for all Goals
Summary - replace me

Additional TSSA funds will be used to  purchase teacher materials (including technology if appropriate) supporting student achievement and improve Tier I instruction available to all teachers in reading, math and science. By addressing Tier I instruction with additional funds, this would limit our need for as many Tier II interventions. If additional funds were substantial enough, we would hire other instructional assistants to help meet the needs of all students at Lone Peak in reading
