School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP
School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:
Sunrise SCC monitors TSSP goals and plays an integral part in developing our 2022-2023 TSSP
In our September SCC meeting, we looked at fall CBM data.
In our November SCC meeting, we discussed our DWSBa results.
In our January SCC meeting, we went over winter CBM data.
In our March SCC meeting, we finalized our plans and approved them.

Academic Goals
Based on the math benchmark measures, 20.1% of students are not meeting our Acadience proficiency goal. Currently four out of the six grade levels met the recommended Acadience proficiency for student achievement. We will continue to focus on our math block and work to ensure consistent use of research based instructional strategies during whole group math block and consistent implementation of small group instruction. Strategies for improvement are implementing high leverage mathematical practices (number talks, increase mathematical language and discourse through close reading and systematic vocabulary, and concrete-representational-abstract model) and implementing a focus on intentional planning for small group instruction.

Academic Goals
Based on reading benchmark measures, 27% of students are not meeting our Acadience proficiency goal. Currently two of the six grade levels meet the recommended Acadience proficiency for student achievement. We will continue our focus on our English Language Arts block and work to ensure we have defined small group instruction plans, consistent implementation of small group instruction, and consistent use of research based instructional strategies during whole group literacy block. Strategies for improvement are implementing a focus on intentional planning, and implement high leverage reading practices (reading connected text, structured classroom discussion, vocabulary routine, and close reading).

Beverly Taylor Music teacher will be utilized to help with science in all grades. She will use additional music instruments to teach science skills. ($1,000) 4. School will implement a Makerspace to further develop science inquiry skills. A makerspace is a place where you can make things. It’s a place for hands-on learning with all the tools for creativity, for example, 3D printing, audio-visual equipment, hand tools, computers, etc. Our goal is to allow students to enter with an idea and leave with a complete project. ($7,000) 5. Substitutes so teachers can work together to plan lessons and experiments ($1,000).

School Climate Goals
28% of students exhibit moderate to high risk internalizing behavior according to Student Risk Screening Scale - Internalizing (SSRS-IE) data in winter 2022. We want to better support our students by using explicit instruction in to give students skills on how to emotionally regulate and to advocate for themselves to develop connections with adults and feel safe at Sunrise. A strategy for improvement is implementing Morning Meetings, 10:2, and utilize peace corners.
80% of students on Student Risk Screening Scale will rank in low internalizing (emotionally flat, shy, sad, anxious, and lonely) behavior's category by 2022. Teachers will focus on teaching all students skills to cope with internalizing behaviors within the school setting.
80% of students on Student Risk Screening Scale will rank in low externalizing (lying, cheating, and behavior problems) behavior's category by 2022. Teachers will focus on teaching all students skills to cope with externalizing behaviors within the school setting.

We will:
1. Continue our implementation precorrection, 4:1, differential reinforcement, de-escalation strategies, self-monitoring, morning meetings, restorative circles, and develop recess aides skill set. 2. Professional development includes restorative practices and Playworks. 3. Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) behavior aide. ($20,000) 4. Purchase materials for peace corners in every classroom and for our wellness room. Materials such as Jellyfish lamps, flow rings, regulation putty, weighted lap pad, liquid motion toys, kanoodle jr, yoga mats, lava lamps, etc. ($5,380) 5. Continue to house a full-time school counselor. Sunrise will pay $15,000 to help keep her at full-time.
