Teacher and Student Success Plan
2023 - 2024

Overarching Goal

Albion teachers will create engaging, intellectually demanding learning experiences that teach students to make interdisciplinary connections. Students will take ownership and find meaning in their education through active learning.  Students will demonstrate their understanding through performance of academic skills, using supporting evidence, and applying problem-solving strategies.

School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP
School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:

The progress towards our goals and the monitoring of the plan have been discussed in part or whole at each School Community Council meeting, including spending goals, ideas for improvement areas, and requests for information regarding programs and scheduling. in addition, information regarding previous year's plan and metrics were presented and discussed and approved. Each meeting includes time for feedback.

Academic Goals

Academic scores as measured by the Reading Inventory, which correlates to the RISE assessment, are not where we expect Albion students to be scoring. Reading Inventory scores showed that only 65% of students achieved expected growth for the previous year. However, many students who are already scoring "Highly Proficient" are unable to show large numbers of growth, but are still "Highly Proficent" so we will be including those numbers in the goal for precision. We would like to focus on engagement and rigorous learning experience to meet the needs of both highly proficient learners and struggling learners. Two strategies for improvement are 1) have true authentic dialogue with students with a focus on quality feedback, and 2) increasing rigor through tasks including higher level problem-solving and writing.

In school year 2023–24, 70% of students will increase the Reading Inventory Lexile score by the “Annual Expected Growth” or score "Highly Proficient" from fall to spring.

Academic Goals

Academic scores as measured by the Math Inventory, which correlates to the RISE assessment, are not where we expect Albion students to be scoring. Math inventory scores showed that only 78% of students achieved expected growth for the previous year.

In school year 2023–24, 83% of students will increase their Math Inventory score by the “Annual Expected Growth” from fall to spring.
