Teacher and Student Success Plan
2023 - 2024

Overarching Goal

Improve student achievement in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics, while supporting student emotional well-being in and out of the classroom.  Improve restorative practices throughout the school.

School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP
School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:

The SCC helps review data and gives valuable feedback about our priorities.  They ask questions about Land Trust and TSSP funding and how that supports our goals and they analyze how those monies can best be spent.  They discuss our different grade level goals, whether they are valid or not, and the ways in which those can be achieved.  They also act as a valuable sounding board as to whether our PBIS system is working, and they give feedback as to how the community understands our MTSS system.

Academic Goals

Data indicates that 78% of our students scored Typical or above on the Acadience Math Pathways to Progress in the Winter of 2023. We have noticed that our CAP (Concepts and Applications) Pathway data has typically been lower than our COMP (Computation) Pathway data. We believe that this is due to a need for strengthening teacher clarity, structured classroom discussion, or feedback sequences to provide opportunities for students to improve their critical thinking which is needed when solving these word problems.

By the spring of 2024, 85% of students in kindergarten through fifth grade will meet typical or above typical growth on the Acadience Pathways of Progress in Math.

Continue with Dreambox which actually show significant gains for students with disabilities because the non-language aspect (there is no written directions or problems) works with their strengths. Continue to work on differentiation and scaffolding supports in whole group instruction. Will monitor through observations, progress monitoring, and benchmark testing.

Utilizing and teaching how to use Lexia English in a more productive way. Strengthened teacher clarity and structured academic discussion especially in the area of math. Utilize structured classroom discussion to help students with vocabulary and opportunities to verbalize thinking.

TSSP goals will be shared continually with staff through faculty meetings, professional development, and PLCs. Teachers will write and reflect upon their own goals and how they support the TSSP.

5. Supporting Tier 2 instruction with three reading interventionists who will collaborate with instructional coach and classroom teachers ($40423.29/Landtrust)
6. One progress monitoring assistant ($12,000/Landtrust)
7. Teacher materials and supplies for Wonders and 95% Program ($1,000/Landtrust)
8. Substitutes to allow teachers to observe different classrooms and for BLT to meet during 1 school day session ($2,000/Landtrust)

All Acadience Reading Curriculum-Based Measurement is given in grades K-5.

We will strengthen Tier 1 whole class instruction to target specific deficits in student performance through the use of 95% Group. We will continue to focus on structured academic discussion and train on the use of scaffolding. We will monitor implementation progress by coaching observations and progress monitoring. We also believe that our LETRS training and the Wonders curriculum are supporting the growth of our students with disabilities and students with a second language.

By implementing structured and scaffolded academic discussion, we should increase language production in the general education classroom. This will be monitored by progress monitoring, Amira reports, and review of Individual Language Development Plan (IDLP) progress throughout the year. Teachers will consistently use Lexia English for their ML students. Teachers will utilize Lexia English and Amira reports to analyze progress.

TSSP goals will be shared continually with staff through faculty meetings, professional development, and IPLC's. Teachers will write and reflect upon their own goals and how they support the TSSP.

School Climate Goals

80% of our students were at a low risk for externalizing behaviors in Fall 2022 and 79% of students were at a low risk for externalizing behaviors in Winter 2023. We have noticed that Spring SRSS-IE scores sometimes drop due to testing anxiety and upcoming changes in schedule for summer break.

85% of students K-5 will be in the low risk range of externalizing behaviors by Spring of 2024 as measured by Student Risk Screening Scale (SRSS-IE).
