School Community Council and Staff Involvement in the TSSP

School Community Councils play an integral part in the development and monitoring of TSSP goals. Please briefly describe the participation of SCC members in the development process of this TSSP:

The School Community Council and Building Leadership Team recognize the need for students to have more access to individuals without disabilities as they best model functional, academic and social skills appropriately. Students throughout the school have goals on their Individualized Education Plans for them to work on their functional skills. Currently, only 20 students access their community on a regular basis during school hours and we want to increase that to 90%, understanding that some students are unable to due to medical restrictions.

Measurement

We will identify how often each student attends the community activity throughout the year.

All students at Jordan Valley have disabilities. We only had 22 students going into the community this year and plan to increase that to 90% of our student body next year. Each of our students has an IEP goal for functional skills.

Explain how you will increase language development so that English Learners are more likely to meet or exceed your TSSP goals and state requirements for adequate English language progress and proficiency.

Students will use their mode of communication to interact with individuals in the community setting.

We will include updates throughout the year through our monthly newsletter (specifically at the beginning, middle and end)
